On a sweltering hot day with the mercury soaring to 27 degrees Celsius, Wallsend welcomed Yarm for their first DN3 league game of the season. With five debuts for Wallsend, the stage was set for a memorable encounter.

As the match kicked off, both teams were determined to make their mark, but it was Wallsend who struck first, with debutant Charles Gay making an immediate impact. Just four minutes into the first half, Gay scored his first try for Wallsend, setting the tone for the home team's dominance. Moments later, at the 18-minute mark, Gay was at it again, crossing the try line for his second of the day. Josh Leighton's successful conversion brought the score to 12-0 in favor of Wallsend.

Wallsend's debutants continued to shine, as Nick Tenney scored his first-ever try for the club at the 23-minute mark, extending Wallsend's lead to 17-0. The onslaught continued when Jack Burke, another debutant, scored for Wallsend at the 29-minute mark. Sean Baker joined the party at the 34-minute mark, and Josh Leighton's successful conversion pushed the score to 29-0. Dave Climpson capped off the first-half scoring with a try in the 39th minute, and Josh Leighton converted to end the half with Wallsend comfortably leading 36-0.

The second half began with Wallsend's Olly Magee scoring a try just two minutes in, further cementing their dominance. However, Yarm managed to get on the scoreboard at the 48-minute mark with a well-executed try.

Wallsend quickly responded as Timmy Woods scored another try at the 50-minute mark. Yarm managed to score a converted try at the 61-minute mark, making it 46-7 in favor of Wallsend. Captain Josh Leighton continued to impress, scoring a try for Wallsend at the 67-minute mark.

In the final stages of the match, Wallsend showed no signs of slowing down. Dave Climpson added to his tally with a try at the 70-minute mark, and Josh Leighton's conversion brought the score to 58-12 in favor of Wallsend. Nicholas Tenney scored his second try of the match at the 65-minute mark, followed by Charles Gay completing his hat-trick at the 72-minute mark. Josh Leighton was on point with his conversions.

Yarm managed to salvage some pride with a penalty kick in the final moments, but Wallsend emerged victorious with a commanding scoreline of 72-15.
